Our Host, Debbie, was AMAZING! I can't emphasize that enough. She was knowledgeable, helpful, enthusiastic, welcoming, and friendly. She had gone to a great deal of work to make travelers like ourselves feel like we were at home away from home. One of the most important things she did for us was the display in the foyer with maps showing where we are, and the thoughtful little labels to show us where to leave keys, and to find things in the kitchen. The hostel itself was clean, spacious, and well maintained. The common room was very comfortable, and the kitchen was really nice too. The neighborhood was quiet, safe, and very picturesque, and the walk to downtown Inverness was beautiful and not too long.

What we didn't like: The twin beds in the triple room could use some upgrading. I felt a lot of springs. The Hostel really needs better signage. We were fortunate to be arriving by car, and in possession of an accurate GPS. Even so, the visible signs were vague enough that we were not quite certain we had found the correct address until we rang the doorbell. On our first return from downtown Inverness, we rescued another guest who had become lost because there is no signage visible at all if you are coming on foot from the riverside.
