Reykjavik Chips
Reykjavik, Iceland
August 28, 2018
A restaurant that just does fries is a novel concept. I expect this kind of thing to do well as a food-truck in a highly populous area, or as a pocket-sized counter in a shopping mall food-court. I did not expect a dining room, but Reykjavik Chips has one, complete with tables specially designed with cut-outs to hold the cones in which the fries are served. Said fries were perfection of the quick food concept. The interior of each fry was almost the consistency of whipped potatoes, while the outside had a crispness just short of brittle. They were salted to perfection, and we ordered some sauces and shared a single large cone of fries. Compared to other food stops in Iceland, it was pretty cheap, though we paid far more for those fries than we ever would at home. We would likely visit again for quick calories to keep us energized on a cold day in Reykjavik.
