La Brea Bakery Cafe

Anaheim, CA

November 16, 2018

Since I've ever been taught not to say anything if I can't say something nice, I'll give the good points first:
1) We could get seats at the bar with less than a 20 minute wait on a high-traffic evening at Disney  while there were 3 conventions at the Anaheim Convention center
2) The Braised Short Rib was good enough to be worth its cost.

Then the bad points:
1) The dining room is no quieter than the street outside
2) The Fusilli Chicken was dry chicken in a bowl of paste-like sauce, and definitely not worth even half its menu price.

The restaurant is in Downtown Disney, so we expected the significant mark-up. We also expected a little more ambiance or impeccable service to go along with the mark-up. The service was on the slower side of our sit-down experience, and while professional, not at all warm or friendly as one would expect for service so close to a Disney park, and the ambiance was completely forgettable.

We did get some pastries at the bakery counter for the next morning's breakfast that pushed the overall rating up from two to three stars, but we're not impressed enough in the overall experience to plan a future Anaheim visit around this plac
