I couldn't explain Millionaire pie effectively while driving through Deming, so we had to stop and visit in order to try some. Elisa makes a Millionaire pie every bit as good as my mother's, so no explanation necessary just amazement and enjoyment. 

Having never before tried Shoe Fly pie, we tried it too. I have no basis for comparison of this molasses-based concoction the consistency of the gooiest brownie ever, and the flavor of fresh-baked gingerbread. If our experience of the pie is not the norm, though, the rest of the world is doing it wrong, because this was divine.

Our only regret in visiting Elisa's House of Pies and Restaurant is that we weren't hungry enough to have a full lunch. I'm already working on excuses to make the drive to Deming so we can try the barbeque...
